Waldo J. Santiago Colberg, MD is a first-year Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism fellow at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, in 2021. Dr. Santiago Colberg completed his Internal Medicine residency at East Alabama Health in Opelika, Alabama, in 2024. His contributions include peer-reviewed journal articles, quality improvement projects, and oral presentations. He has presented at regional and national meetings. Among his recent quality improvement initiatives are the development of a diabetic ketoacidosis management protocol and the production of Spanish-language diabetes educational videos.

Dr. Christina M Lovato is an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and Sandoval Regional Medical Center.  She graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship training at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.  She is the Program Director for the UNM Endocrinology Fellowship Program and is also Co-director for the Medical Specialties clinics at UNM.  She is board-certified in Endocrinology and practices General Endocrinology but has a particular focus in the management of thyroid/parathyroid disorders and metabolic bone disorders.
